Working with files

This section provides procedures for working with files in the app.

You can also perform actions with files through the MyFiles app.

The app allows you to open document files and PDFs in view mode. For easier reading, the main interface elements are hidden.​

The app does not support opening password-protected files. To view such a file, remove the password protection using the appropriate program and upload it to the app again.

To close a file and exit view mode, close the corresponding browser tab. If the file was opened in a separate window, close that window.

Saving changes​

All your changes are saved automatically while you work.​

To close a file, simply close the browser tab containing the app.

Before closing, make sure all changes have been saved by checking that the All changes saved status indicator is displayed at the top of the window.

If the app cannot save changes, a warning appears at the top of the window. This does not block your work.

We recommend copying all content to a new file to prevent data loss.

Collaboration​

You can work on the same file simultaneously with other users.

The file owner or a user with Manage permission can grant access:

  • View — read-only access..
  • Comment — reading and adding comments.
  • Edit — making changes.
  • Manage — full permissions, including access management.

Collaboration interface:

  • The sidebar displays avatars of collaborators.
  • Other users' cursors are highlighted in the color of their avatars.
  • Click a collaborator's avatar to view their details.
  • All changes are displayed to all participants in real time.

Collaboration specifics:

  • In the view-only mode, editing tools are unavailable.
  • Sessions may close automatically after prolonged inactivity.
  • Simultaneous editing is available to a limited number of users.
