Enter data

You can enter and edit various data in table cells manually or using autofill.

Autofill copies data or continues a sequence (1, 2, 3...; Monday, Tuesday...).

Enter or change data

  1. Select the desired cell.
  2. Start typing text or numbers. You will enter edit mode.
  3. Press Enter (move down), Tab (move right), or click on another cell.

You can also:

  • Enter edit mode by double-clicking the cell or pressing F2.
  • Cancel your entry by pressing Esc.
  • Return to the editable cell (if you have scrolled the page) by clicking on its address in the floating bar.

Fill in the data with autofill

  1. Select the cell or range with the source data.
  2. Move the cursor to the fill handle in the lower-right corner of the cell. The cursor will change to a plus sign (+).
  3. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the marker to the right or down.

Depending on the selection, text and numbers will be copied, and standard sequences (dates, days) will be continued.

You can continue a complex progression (1, 3, 9...) by selecting 2-3 initial values and dragging the marker.

Copy, cut, and paste data

  1. Select the cells with data.
  2. If you need to copy the data, press Ctrl+C (Cmd+C).
  3. If you need to cut the data, press Ctrl+X (Cmd+X).
  4. Select the cell where you want to paste.
  5. To paste the data, press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V).

You can also use the tools in the context menu or on the Home tab, in the Edit group:

  • Paste — pastes everything (formulas, formatting).
  • Paste values and format — pastes the calculation results and formatting.
  • Paste values only — pastes only text or numbers.
